Thunderstorms weaken with loss of daytime heating...

The showers and thunderstorms that rumbled across the Chicago area this afternoon and evening continue to dissipate with the loss of solar energy or daytime heating.   While a few scattered showers will remain possible through 10PM, the rain will not be nearly as intense as some of the activity from earlier today. 

Some of the more impressive rainfall totals include:

1.86"  Wauconda

1.48"  Chicago  (NW Side: Harlem & Kennedy Expy)

1.37"  Genoa, IL

1.35"  Harwood Heights

1.26"  Des Plaines

1.06"  Park Ridge

0.84"  Berwyn
