New warnings issued at 5:15PM, incudes portions of Cook County

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 6:15PM for the following counties: 

Southern Cook, Eastern Will, Eastern Kankakee, Lake(IN), Western Porter, Northern Jasper and Northern Newton. 

The main severe weather threat from these storms will continue to be damaging winds of up to 65mph.  Heavy rain and lighting will also accompany these storms as they move east at 30mph.  

A 45mph wind gust was recorded in Joliet at 5:10PM.
