Heavy rainfall in Bartlett- New flood advisory issued for Kankakee County

UPDATE 6:15PM
Flooding is reported near Bourbonnais in Kankakee County where heavy rainfall has filled roadside ditches and caused some field flooding.

UPDATE 6:05 pm
A new urban and small stream flood advisory has just been issued for eastern Kankakee County until 9pm this evening. Up to three inches of rain could fall in the area from slow-moving thunderstorms. 

This afternoon's thunderstorms were slow-moving allowing them to drop large amounts of rain over the areas they were hovering over, while nearby locations received little or no rainfall.

Bartlett reported 1.68 inches of rain from the storms while Inverness received 1.03 inches. An urban and small stream flood advisory remains in effect until 7:15 pm CDT this evening for portions of northwest Cook, and northern DuPage counties. Only light showers are expected in the area covered by the advisory this evening as the storm are dissipating rapidly.
