Storms starting to fire west & northwest of Chicago

| | Comments (0)

It's been a pleasant and dry morning across most of the Chicago area thus far, but changes are on the way this Memorial Day 2010 as thunderstorms are expected to move in between 10:30AM and 2PM.

At 9:15AM, showers and thunderstorms are already starting to blossom to the west and northwest of Chicago.  The latest short-term computer model guidance as well as radar trends suggest these storms should continue to increase in coverage as they roll east and northeast into the Chicago area.

There is some good news:  most of the storms are NOT expected to be severe due to weak upper level dynamics.
