Thunderstorms intensify late this morning; hail reported in Plainfield

Several lines of thunderstorms have developed across the Chicago area as of 11:00AM.

These storms are producing torrential downpours, lightning, small hail and gusty winds.  Many of thunderstorm cells are quite strong, but currently just below severe limits.

A 45mph wind gust occurred at 10:52AM at O'Hare.

Nickle sized (0.88") hail was reported at 11:00AM in Plainfield
