I was trying to find a way to contact "Hawk" Harrelson and ask him to find out if it is within the rules for this scenario: When a batter (left or right-handed batter) is at the plate and they are trying to give him an intentional walk; Is it legal to jump to the opposite batters' box (as long as he is in the box) and take a swing at the ball? I just wonder what the ruling would be if it happened in a game?
One more thing that popped into my mind: Say that a ball hits several feet in front of the plate and the player hits it for a home run or even for a base hit; Is that considered a legal play? Sure would like "Hawk" to answer these questions on one of his telecasts...
Thank you,
