I agree that allison mack is a great actress and I believe she could direct and produce other shows or movies while still playing the role of chloe on smallville. I think she is very underrated but she has great potential for other things also. she is a very rare actress that stays in good touch with her fans while lots of actors and actresses dont stay in such good communication I would also like to know about her other projects as a fan of allison macks. may God bless her.

I think allison mack could carry her own show. a spinoff from smallville. the next VERONICA MARS. but scfi.

Chloe's not actually come to the comics, so, no no one is cheering that until it actually happens. And the only people who seem really upset about Allison or Chloe are the Erica Durance fans - as outlined by this blog.

Allison Mack was about the only person on the younger end of this network excluded. The network undervalues her. Her fans do not.

My reason for watching Smallville?

Allison Mack's Chloe Sullivan.

She adds such depth, heart, angst, devotion & layers to the character of Chloe.

Not to mention the AMAZING chemistry between Allison & Tom Welling.

Clark & Chloe are my new Mulder & Scully! Hopefully we see CW get it right & hook them up *onscreen*.

I don't thing EW did a great job by the 'Temp Lois' remark which now the Chloe fans so fondly use for Lois.

If Chloe/AM fans think that is an achievement, I don't think so. It was merely an insulting and biased remark against Erica which nor did anyhing to damage her reputation niether did it do any good to Allison's popularity.

Fans who generally loved Chloe are slowly getting fed-up with her after this. EW only did damage to her, not favor.

I think if Allison is asked about her opinion on this, she'd loathe such remarks, as she has a wonderful friendship with both Erica and Kristin on the show.

DC already gave Allison the due attention she deserved by adding Chloe to the comics, that is the best attention she could get, but no one praised her or congratulated her on that!

Chloe fans want to bury this wonderful fact that Chloe is now part of comics, only because that killed their Chlois dream!

Stop wasting time on comparing her to Lois. Don't try to make her something she isn't, love her for something she is. That is the due attentions she deserves!

How does this make her Overrated/Underrated?

One of the reasons I think that some people may say that Allison is "overrated" is the fact that she has kept her personal life pretty private, unlike many celebs out there, and I commend her on it. It may not be a necessarily good career move, because the public tends to love juicy things like private lives, but it saves her A LOT of grief and headache.

BUT the bottom line is that she is an amazing actress and an extremely nice person, and has many quirks and traits that us Allison fans love about her. She is an amazing actress, and whatever part she plays, she make us believe that she actually is the character. From extremely emotional parts like the cutter in 7th heaven, to day-to-day Chloe, she is an amazing actress and really is underrated.

You're not the infalliable expert on fans of the show....so you'll forgive the fans who don't agree with you, and think that you are WAY OFF the mark. AT this point in time Allison's work involves mostly the Smallville character of Chloe....so obviously fans are going to go on and on about it...but I've seen tons of fans that are interested in whatever other projects Allison is involved in. Which is no different than what I've seen from Erica & KK fans.

The only reason that Allison fans might diminish later on is if she doesn't obtain roles that offer the same limelight....and this is a strong possibilty FOR EVERYONE ON THE SHOW...from Tom Welling on down......even type casting could be a potential problem for ANYWONE OF THEM (and has been historically for the actors who have played the Man of Steel). As history has shown, a lot of stars get that role of a lifetime, and then never get another break ever again. However, your take on what will happen is still just your opinion. And you think everyone elses fandom is not going to diminish once the show is over?....Geez....what a Dumb comment to make about Allison's fanship disappearing. Because no matter who you are...fanship always diminishes over time....unless your constantly in the limelight or your show becomes as Iconic as either "Star Trek" or "I Love Lucy". For Myself, I believe Allison will always be fondly remembered and loved for that role. Much like stars from other Iconic shows of the past. Cant' really say that Smallville will be up there with likes of "Star Trek" or "I Love Lucy", but it should be cult enough to always have a good number of fans at hand.....for not only Allison, but everyone else associated with Smallville.

It was Allison fans that wanted a TV Guide interview, it was Allison fans that voted for her as a TCA and helped her win, its Allison fans that think she is the best actress in Smallville at the Kryptonsite awards, and Allison fans participated in the EW.com poll and let them know Allison was underrated. Allison fans went to see Ant Bully and just this Saturday tunned into the Kids WB to hear Allison voice Clea on THE BATMAN.

Don't say Allison fans are just Chloe fans, we LOVE Allison and will follow her career.

I was very pleased to see that Allison had been credited as being "THE most underrated actress."

She has true talent and has been acting for most of her life. Not only that, but I think she's a great role model, and I've enjoyed seeing her in behind-the-scenes specials due to her vivid and friendly personality.

It's one thing to have fans that like you, but it's another to get the same praise from your coworkers. And from all my investigating, Allison is very well-liked and well praised for her acting skills by all the cast members on Smallville.

While I'm often sad that Chloe probably won't play a huge role in Clark's future, I'm really glad to see that the people behind Smallville do recognize her talent. She's beginning to branch out into voice roles on various animated shows and movies and I look forward to her future work as an actress.

I think that Allison Mack is totally under-rated, because, she's never in the CW or WB promos. The promotion pics of the Smallville. She only has a few this season and the last season I didn't see promo pis of her. The Interviews are only with MR, TW ED & KK. The last interview that I read of her was in TV Guide and was in August.

She's a very talented actress and she's a very important part in the Smallville success.I like to see her more in promos and interviews.

Completely underrated on this network. No matter what happens on this show, I can't wait for AM to head off to the movies and other projects on TV. And, hopefully not in horror movies.

Allison Mack is certainly one of the most underrated actors on Smallville, along with Glover and Annette O'Toole. They are always shoved aside for the eye candy on the show that producers and network execs think viewers love. I can name three performers on Smallville who can't hold a candle to AM JG and AO.

Oh for sure, I think Allison very underrated. Her talented skills are what made the Chloe character such an integral part of Clark's journey to Superman.

Hrmmmmm yes it seems that the negatives (esp. from Mask)didn't understand the question. It was pertaining to Allison as an actress not the Chloe character and if you hate her or not. I would dare say that an easy 75% of the negative posts are your Erica Durance/Lois fans. Because you know she is sooo hot and that supercedes any thing else, even her limited acting ablility.

So why don't the other posters just stick to appreciating the actress Allison Mack without criticizing the other SV characters. Once they criticize the other SV characters its obviously going to turn into a debate thread.

I watch the show for Clark and Lex and to me they save the series.I don't care for the others as long as they don't hinder the development of these 2 character.
As a AM fan you would have loved Chloe's storyline in Season 5 but as a Clark fan it was painful to watch Clark running to
Chloe for every problem he had and I don't want the same in season 6. Because this season except Sneeze Clark is doing fine so far and I don't want the writers to backtrack his character.

And for the negative comments there are some starting Nov 2 2:37 PM onwards and it didn't just start today.

look at the first four seasons of smallville and even a lot of season five. Lana gets way over promoted.

At TWoP, someone did a time check. Chloe has had less time than Clark, Lex, Oliver, and Temp Lois this year.

Hardly a canidate for 'taking over' a show.

Allison is over rated because she alone meade the list of 'underrated' SV people? Ha!

Chloe is one of the best characters on the show, and Allison is terribly underrated. She's the only one of the younger cast ignored by the CW this year. But fans all over haven't forgotten her as much as smoe anti-Chloe fans would like them to.

I can't wait to see more Allison and a lot more Chloe in SV soon.

Allison Mack, isn't a big name actress and outside of the show Smallville, I don't know her for doing anything else. So it's possible that she is underrated, in terms of any kind of industry recognition.

However, the character Chloe, is one of the most overrated characters on the show. It's at the point of pure nauseam. I'm just sick of the character.

Tom Welling, Micheal Rosenbaum and Kristin Kruek, the "FORMER" big three of Smallville are under-rated! Badly under-rated this season!!!

Erica Durance is badly under-rated because even though she plays the "so called prestigious Lois Lane" she is reduced to merely being just one of the female cast members.

Allison is the only one 'rated' on Smallville. The rest, it seems, don't exist at all.

Look at the hype she has recently got after almost becoming the hero of Smallville as the writers use her as the plot solving device and the only one who seems to have a brain and intellect.

Look at the other discussion blogs on CW, they are full of hate posts by Chloe fans.

Allison is wonderful, but sorry to say, Chloe isn't wonderful anymore, just because of being so much over-rated!

Smallville needs to focus on it's storylines these days. Under-rated and over-rated debates are only taking it downhill.

AM fans underrate the character she plays because they want her to morph into another character to be a role model. So there is nothing wrong is CW underrating her because that's what her fans do.

So um, what do Chloe fans want now? Smallville changed to Chloeville. It has already practically become that.

So you guys think that Tom Welling, Kristin, Micheal and Erica who play the cannon characters should be sidelined and Allison be given all the publicity.

Then I guess I would suggest TPTB to cancel Smallville and make Chloe Chronicles a prime time show.

There is no question of Allison being under-rated or over-rated. She is a supporting character of the show, she is getting the due attention she deserves. That is all!

CW Promotion was excellent. It featured the cannon characters of the show. If a new viewer tunes in to watch Smallville, he'd identify a Superman show with Clark, Lois, Lex and even with Lana but not with Chloe!

If the show was called 'Chloe Chronicles', then there would've been a question of over-rated or under-rated.

Smallville is a story of Superman, it should give due publicity to the iconic characters that are part of the Superman story.

Annette and John Glover are the best actors on Smallville right now. But you cannot change the fact that Martha Kent and Lionel Luthor support the iconic characters Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, they are not the leading characters of the show. They do need the publicity they deserve but you cannot highlight them as the main characters.

There is no one more underrated on Smallville than John Schnieder. He was the most lovable and wonderfully written character in Season one, two and three. Seriously, I wanted to stop watching Smallville after 'Recknoning' and I found it hard to watch the old episodes in which Jonathan Kent was alive. I would never forget him even till the last episode of Smallville airs.

But still, I have to accept the fact that he was not the major character of the show. Smallville didn't revolve around Jonathan Kent.

Similarly, Chloe cannot be presented as a canon or major character of Smallville, because of the simple fact, that she isn't!

CW may not have shown her in the publicity, but they did give her all the screentime in 'Sneeze' and "Whither'.. Seen the drastic results?

Many fans who are not die-hard Chloe fans also love her, but the hard truth is, we don't watch Smallville for Chloe, people tune in to watch a show about Clark Kent, if you sideline him, you loose fans.

Allison is a good actor, she has done a great job of playing Chloe. But her fans seem to think that Allison or Chloe is above Smallville, as if the show is nothing without her, that is not true.

A major portion of fans still watch Smallville for Clark Kent, and if he is sidelined or not shown as a hero, no one would like it.

Most underrated girl on the CW. And she's underrated BY the CW - which is the saddest part.

As someone with a history of Cutting her role in 7th Heaven's cutter episode was top notch and her portrayal as a Self-Injurer did the topic and the character justice.

Her role in Kate Brasher was also powerful, it helped me understand a friend's death better.

And finally her role in Smallville is an inspiration and the perfect role model for those who work hard and dream. If only Chlois were true so that ILL would maintain that status that she has held for 70 years. As is, I have lost faith in Temp Lois and if real, ILL as a role model for my daughter.

Ms. Mack is definately underrated. She's a wonderful actress who has brought layers to a character that in the hands of a lesser actress would be a one note character. I was disappointed that the network chose only to promote a certain few "Smallville" actors & actresses as opposed to the entire cast, because all of the actors and actresses contribute to this show and deserve to be recognized equally. It's such a shame that the CW chose not to promote SV's "older" actors (John & Annette) in a vain attempt to attact a younger generation.

Definitely UNDERRATED..along with the whole cast of Supernatural.

Listen up CW...first off, it was horrid that Allison was not part of the CW promotions..that was just in plain poor taste....but it is passed...i won't dwell on it...

but John Glover and Annette O'Toole need some recognition too. The single most redeeming thing you can do for yourself after the atrosity that was the CW Smallville promotion is give fans a promotion ad with JG and AOT.

TRUST ME ON THIS!...you will only get positive feedback for it...get started on that and redeem yourself.

How about an idea for any promotions of season 7 next year??? Why not promote ALL the actors: Tom, Michael, John, Allison, Kristin, Erica, and Annette??? WOW..what a concept...

I actually think TW, MR, KK and AM carry SV as 90% of the plots are about those characters that they play. ;)

Underrated!

She's completely ignored by the CW and their promo department, and was only marginally acknowledged by the WB.

She and the other long term cast members (John G and AOT included) are often taking a back seat to other, less known, less on, less popular actors.

And that's just plain sad.

Hey Claire why is EW biased?. How is AM underrated than JG and AOT.
Atleast AM got her promo shots. JG and AOT had nothing. Shouldn't these actors be mentioned too.
JG and AOT are more skilled than any other actors in SV. JG, JS and AOT had carried Smallville so far.

Love that Allison is getting some attention.
Allison's performance as Chloe has brought so much depth to the character,her ability to make you relate to Chloe(in good times and bad) is the reason many want Chloe to accomplish her goals. Given that DC Comics (apparently)want to introduce Chloe into the Comics is a huge credit to Allison's work and ability to make Chloe relatable to many people.
While I agree that Michael is a great actor,I don't agree that Rosenbaum is underrated,as he HAS gotten(well deserved) media attention and is in the CW'S promos etc.
I do agree that John and Annette are underrated,as like Allison, they have been ignored by the network and some media.

Kudos to EW for recognising Allison's talent. She's continued to be one of the best talents on the show, despite the CW's determination to ignore her contribution. It's mind-boggling that the CW would actively ignore the talent of Allison Mack and Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles who also made the list. Seriously, is anyone at the CW listening to what fans want to see? Is this what the slogan means: Free to ignore fans and pretend everything is alright in their own little network world?

Allison Mack is horribly OVERrated. This is simply the Let's Feel Sorry for the Ugly Duckling syndrome started by Ugly Betty. But at least America can act, I love that show and I love her.

Allison on the other hand looks like she is having a heart attack. Check out Kristin Belle and the ladies of Heroes for good actresses. Over-acting is not good acting just as Lana's underacting isn't good either. John Glover and Tom Welling are the ones that don't get enough props. Allison is just crappy all around, it mystifies me why online her fans seem to worship her. I cannot find even one of my Smallville fan buddies who like her, it's all about Kristin and Erica. Actually Erica needs more props. She does not get enough press but she is great with comedy, emotion, anything you throw at her without looking like she's having a stroke and darting her eyes around like a hyperactive puppy.

Thanks to EW for noticing how underrated Allison Mack is on this network and how much better the Mack Lois is in a popwatch entry a week or 2 ago as well. And along with Allison, Jared and Jensen from Supernatural made the list too. The CW has some of the most talented people on TV today from Allison, Jared and Jensen to John Glover and Annette O'Toole and all it does is ignore them and the fact that fans are clamouring for them. EW.Com listened, will the CW?

UNDERrated for sure! Allison has so much more talent, beauty, and personality than so many of the other young stars out there, yet she's hardly ever recognized.

I think Allison is great - she has a real flair for comedy and lots of chemistry with her co-stars.

I think John, Annette and Michael are fantastic too. I miss the cool plot-lines Michael had in S1 - 3. Now, he seems to mostly just stand around with Lana and it's boring.

Further, the EW gallery of underrated actors/actresses shows just how far wrong the CW has been in not promoting the amazing Supernatural. Jared and Jensen made the list too. How about a shout out for them too?

I agree, Allison Mack is an awesome actress and has been badly overlooked by the CW in their promotions of "Smallville." I hope they realize their mistake and remedy that soon. She's just wonderful, and one of the major reasons I watch the show.

And I totally agree, AOT and JG aren't getting enough recognition, and should have been included in the promos this summer too. I know the CW is aiming at a younger demographic... but JG is seriously *hot*. Not to mention one of the best actors on the show!

Yes! Underrated!! She doesn't have to turn into Super!Chloe, but her talent is definitley underrated by the network....and she is very humble about it.

I agree with the person who said that John and Annette should have been included in the cast photos too. It seems that they promoted based on "sexiness" or whatever, but it was ridiculous that they were excluded. So what CW, John Glover and Annette aren't sexy too? I don't know what you've been hearing but Lionel is HOT, and Martha is one of the sexiest moms on TV...so there was no reason for them to be excluded!

Micheal and Lana deserve more attention too..and what about that guy???...what's his name again....Tom Welling?...oh yeah..him!

Pay more attention to your regular cast!...THEY are what made your show successful. Don't forget them when you are promoting the latest "sexy" guest star like it was their own show!

It's good to see Allison finally get some recognition from someone, even if it's only for being underrated.

Besides Annette O'Toole, she is the most talented actress on Smallville, and the only reason I still watch the show. If not for her I would have quit the show a long time ago. She's amazingly talented and has excellent chemistry with Tom, making her the fabulous female lead this show needs if they would just let her step into that role.

We've seen it for years, it's time the world sees how great she is.

I love the EW; completely spot on about everything. (Sorry, CW, love you but canceling Everwood? What were you thinking?!)

She's totally underrated by the CW. TVGuide, EW, the TCAs, E!Online, and all the major long term SV sites love her.

EW is right on that Supernatural is underrated too. SPN is on par with Heroes and SV yet gets no respect. :(

Allison is obviously horribly underrated by the network. She deserves a lot more publicity then they have ever given her.

BTW, Jensen Ackles and Jared were mentioned in the list of underrated performers. You might mention them in the blog as well. They at least get some attention by the CW, but not nearly as much as they should!

You kiddng me? Mack and Kreuk are the weakest actors on the show. Just because no one cares about her , doesn't make her good or that her "talent" is not being noticed. The guy who plays Lex, Lionel, and the girl who plays Lois are so much stronger and they are the ones who are unnoticed but make the show worth watching.

So very exciting to see her recognized!! She is such a great actress and I hope she keeps getting recognition!

I agree with you Claire, Annette and John definitely deserve more attention as well. I think Michael gets *some* media, but a little more wouldn't hurt :D

Overrated? HA! seriously, Claire while I love JG, AOT, and MR Allison gets left out of the CW promotion along with other things. Allison was picked because of fan support. Maybe the CW should promote all actors equally next time.

Now all I see is temp-cast members and guest stars an occasionally Tom for a few scenes.

If anything the long term cast of this show is underratted, Allison, John G, and Annette included.

I definitely agree about Michael, John and Annette being overlooked as well. It's shameful that John and Annette weren't even included as part of the cast pictures this year. All the attention seems to go with whoever is seen as sexiest, instead of the talented actors. I suppose that's Hollywood for you!

Totally underrated by her network - there is no way EW would list her if she wasn't.

Here is a girl who gets nominated for multiple TVShow awards, who is very popular in her own fandom, and yet when TVGuide interviewed her she admits the CW purposefully just left her at home.

Fans and Entertainment Weekly seem to get it though; maybe the CW will start to too.

Meh, I don't care what the anti-Chloe fans say. The media gets it. And obviously plenty of fans get it as AM keeps getting stuff.

EW also listed Supernatural and the late great Everwood (as well as quite a few others who are awesome.)

Definitely underrated. She is an AMAZING actress with an incredible range. During her time in Smallville she played everything from fear, joy, anger, jealousy, enthusiasm, concern.... you name it! And she pulls them off amazingly each and every time!

Moreover, she is incredibly consistent as an actress, and has a way of improving any scene she is in.

She's definitely a FAN favorite, but she's often overlooked by the media (I'm looking at YOU CW!).

I agree Claire, Allison, Michael, Annette and John Glover ALL should be given more accolades for so many years of good performance on the show.

I dont know who's fault it is, or how it happened, but Smallville has begun to give its guest stars more attention than the people who MADE the show a success all these years. Why wasn't John Glover and Annette O'Toole featured in the CW promotions too???

Don't slip up Smallville...give credit where credit is due to the stars who have been there for years and years....stop pimping the guest stars
