Geek-a-rific: A First Look at the Season Premiere
Is it even possible to look at that face and NOT crack a grin? Maybe that's way Nate's shaping up to be our favorite geek after last night's two-hour season premiere of Beauty and the Geek. He's the geek in a Star Wars tribute band who still managed to rock the stand-up comedy challenge. Not only was he funny on stage, but he manages to have a sense of humor about himself (which is more than we can say for some of the geeks and beauties... ahem, Sanjay and Tori).
Not a single one of the geek/beauty pairs accepted the bribe of $20,000 to leave right then. Guess that means they've all got something to prove/learn while they're there... or maybe they're too proud to go without a fight. Our first impressions:
*Matt is smart but dopey, and we feel a little bad for the guy because he's so obviously crushing on Cecile. She admitted she has no interest in him -- she's just using him for dressup! Is Matt going to end up brokenhearted?
*Megan seems especially spacey. Watching her attempt to interview that Freakonomics author was painful to watch. Almost as painful as...
...Pi's "comedy" routine. Quotes intentional. Did the guy really think that by getting on stage and launching into a series of four-letter words, he'd get the audience on his side? The awkward pauses and silence after Pi's routine were seriously uncomfortable. Ouch.
So, B & G fans, what'd you think of the premiere? Which pair are you rooting for? Oh, and it looks like a beauty and a geek will hook up later this season... who do you think will end up romantically involved?

I want to hear some of Nate's Star Wars Tribute band music. Help me find it please.
And seriously... this is absolutely my new favorite show (next to Mythbusters).
