Top Model: Death Becomes Them
We have a few beefs with last night's episode. But first, the good things:
*Benny Ninja. Love him! He can teach us how to pose any day.
*The ridiculously over-the-top laser challenge -- and Renee losing! (hee)
*More personality from Dionne and Whitney (finally!)
*Sweetheart Felicia cheering up Jael with a dance
*Renee flat-out admitting, "I'm a bitch" to Mr. Jay kind of made us love her, if only for a minute. She knows it!
*Natasha. She barely gets any camera time these days, but she seems more sweet/out-of-it than bitchy like the premiere made her seem. We'll take whatever Natasha moments we can get!
The weird things:
*Renee's drawing for Jael. Jael seemed touched, but we were sort of weirded out. A straightjacket? But not closed? How is this a bonding moment?
*Jael's inexplicable curling iron burn. She doesn't even have enough hair to curl, she doesn't remember using a curling iron... so where did it come from? And no footage of it, either!
*Dionne getting criticized at panel for her "mall" outfit. Um, exactly what was wrong with it? She wore a pink tank and jeans -- totally simple yet stylish, yet Tyra and Nigel attacked her look. Meanwhile, Jaslene's wearing a satin polka-dot headwrap. Wasn't that worthy of a tad more criticism?
Now, the bad:
*A death/crime scene photo shoot one WEEK after Jael's friend overdosed and died? Tell us that's not in poor taste. Sure, it might've been planned in advance, but come on, Tyra, you could have at least postponed this one a few weeks. The pain was still raw.
*A death/crime scene photo shoot at ALL. Yes, some of the pictures (like Brittany's at right) are strikingly beautiful. But still, it's fetishizing dead bodies, isn't it? Or does anything go in the name of fashion? What do you think about the death photo shoot: cool or creepy?
*Diana. Her photos do nothing for us; her personality isn't exciting in the least. Yet she skated by again this week, not even close to the bottom two. Are we alone in this Diana dislike?
*The constant smoking! Is every contender a chain smoker?
*Felicia going home, seemingly out of the blue. Other girls have been consistently weaker, yet Felicia has one okay photo and she's out? We still can't figure out what criteria the judges are using to eliminate the girls. Do you think Felicia deserved to go?

To Jessi, next time you type, do some research first. Jaslene is not Mexican, she's of Puerto Rican heritage, and was born in Chicago, which last I checked, was still in the US. Previous cycles have allowed girls to compete that were born in other countries. Lluvy (C4) was raised in Mexico, and Nnenna (C6) lived part of her life in Nigeria. Besides, Naima (C4) was not your average all-American girl, and Yoanna (C2) was half Mexican.

for the lindsay girl who said that natasha and jaslene should leave stop hatting just because their way better looking than the so called "american" models ha ha ha ha ha there in america so they qualify and their still there so tuff get used to it

Lindsay's a hater. The most beautiful and driven girls there are Natasha and Jaslene. Don't be jealous just because they have model-like qualities and you don't. I wish them the best of luck and I hope one of those two wins.

Hey Lindsay, to be an American does not mean you have to be "White," smart-one! lol. Jaslene is Puerto-Rican sweetheart and has lived in Chicago her whole life, I know this cause I watched her grow up here. I think that the people who are for voting natasha off for being russian and jaslene off for being latina are idiots. they're american citizens and maybe you'd understand that if you weren't such an uncultured redneck retard. natasha and jaslene are doing well in the competition. anyway, you think naima from season 5 looked like an average american? no. you guys need to grow up and learn to spell.

Natasha is the best!I`m wondering how she can handle it - she have husband and kid,she also studying at college,she is from another country(problems with language barier),but she still fighting and winning!She is the toughest girl there!

My favorite part of the night was actually the laser/pose challenge! It brought me back to the James Bond and Thomas Crowne Affair kinda scenario...I LOVE that Whitney won it, speaking from a "real size" woman's point of view here...she is supposed to be the one with (to put it indelicately) more "girth" than the other size 0's almost invisible kinda size girls...and yet they either touched the lasers or didn't impress Ninja as much as she did! I say go girl!

I think that Renee should go home b/c she complains and talks too much. The competition is based on drive and she wants to win b/c she said she was broke. Feliciua was sent b/c she look liked Tyra. She was the fiercest girl in the competition. And who care's about what Dionne's wears. I think that Whitney will be the next to get eliminated. Dionne, Diana and brittany will make it to the final 3.

The photo shoot was CRIME SCENE, they were suppose to be DEAD!!! WHY DID FELICIA GET SOOOO MUCH RIDICULE FOR LOOKING DEAD?? I don't get it! All of her pictures have been flawless! I smell HATERS!!! Renee stays and Felicia goes home? STOOPID!

I think that natasha should get the boot she is annoying. So is rene always complaining about the photo shoots how she could have done better if she had got another one i feel really sorry for her husband.Jael rocks she takes beautiful pictures and is unique and not afraid to be herself.And she is still staying strong even thought her frirnd died.But i really am voting for the plus size girls diana and whitney it would be really awsome because not every one is pencil think and we shouldnt be afraid to show it we are beautiful.Rock on Americas Next Top Model

OK, here's my thoughts on the girls...
Brittany- She's whiney but takes awesome pics, although I hate her hair and her face looks kinda constipated.
Diana- She has no personality and takes just ok photos. She should have been the one booted off
Dionne- She's adorable and fun but needs to start being more fasionable outside her photos as well as in them.
Felicia- Should NOT have been kicked off, she's so pretty and should have stayed on for at least a little while longer.
Jael- My favorite, she makes all her pics look cute and fun but needs a little more of her expression and emotion put onto her pictures.
Jaslene- Creeps me out, she's grossly skinny and anorexic looking. Her voice is annoying. She certainly is not the girl I'd want to represent ANTM.
Natasha- She's just kind of boring and takes mediocre photos.
Renee- omg, just shutup already! Although she's getting better at modeling she will have to learn how to deal with missing her husband and son if this is what she REALLY wants.
Sarah- I like her, she's cute. But that's pretty much all there is.
Whitney- She's doing excelent considering her body is not the same as the other contestants, she knows her body very well and can make herself look thinner in her pics.

Hey, Jessi, Natasha and Jaslene live in the US, so they can compete as Americans just like the rest of the girls. Just because they're not third-generation white girls doesn't mean they're not American.

Felicia's photos sucked. Natasha's photos suck second, tied with Whitney. The reason Diana is still there is because her face has potential, more potential than Whitney's, honestly. But we all know that all the potential in the world vs a girl who has the drive will allow the potential girl to be eliminated. And as for Tyra having any insensitivity with the death shoot, if we remember correctly, cycle 4's Kahlen lost a childhood friend right before her coffin shoot. And she rocked it. Taking emotion and translating it into a photo is a model's job.

It seems that the judges deciding whom to send home just based on the last photo shoot, I find it unfair, shouldn't they be considering the girls overall performance?
