I have been a devoted fan since season 1 and i don't hate Lana but she is definately annoying by now! And even if they have a history, Lois is exactly what Clark needs! She isn't a damsel in distress and she doesn't baby clark! i could see the two of them fighting side by side not putting Clark in a predicament!

i never want lana to leave, i dont want her off the show, and she shouldnt be hated. i hate lois so badly, i hate her. people think shes oh so much better than lana and its not true, people only think that because shes blonde and hot and whatever, but to me shes a total bitch. if clark loved lana since like he was 7, i dont get why that would be trhown away

Yeah sure I like Lana I don't get why she's hated so much...oh yea I know because she's in the way of Lois of Clark *rolleyes* I love Lois and Clark myself but I would hate for them to hook up in smallville it's not suppose to happen now it's suppose to happen later when superman comes I would hate for them to fall in love now I still can't get into Lois I feel she doesn't belong in smallvile...as for Lana for now she is Clark's love just like in the furture Clark will belong to Lois as of now in Smallville the love story is between these two we all know they won't last and yes sometimes their relationship gets a little yawn....so I don't blame Lana at all for all the hate she gets I blame the writers. Lana could've been such a cool charcter but I understand if the actress wants to leave she gets hated on so much just for playing someone

I definitely want Lana to stay. She is so amazing. She has the potential, you know. I mean she is one of the greatest characters, her personality is AWESOME! Whereas I think Lois and Clark suck so much I swear the day that happens I will stop watching Smallville. Its pathetic- I mean seven year Clark is in blindly nad madly in love with Lana and now Lana is going to leave Smallville? NO WAY! You and Clark are like meant for each other. People have there opinions on this topic and that is fine. But when you start to bash a character as a whole. You need to realize this is just a show:) "Will I miss Lana off Smallville?" Absolutely! Clark and Lana have grown on me from the past few years. To me there chemistry is amazing. Watching every other show, two people that have been intimate don't look, act, and kiss like Kristin and Tom.... I know this is suppose to be about Superman but the show is called Smallville. What ever happens in the events of Smallville makes Clark who he is in Superman. I too like Cloe, Lois, Lex, and etc... but I have seen Krisin Kreuk and her other projects such as Partition and Snow White. She definately has potential... As for people bashing the Lana character, get ready for her new role and attitude change for the upcoming season. Anyways, by people giving this much attention whether it's good or bad. That is what the producers want because the ratings go up no matter what. For example Britney Spears:)

lois lane is only the real love of clark kent only because lana lang was out of the picture, busy being dead. lana has to die in effect for clark to fall in love with the second running in.

I wouldn't mind if Lana Lang stayed on the show as long as the dysfunctional never ending romance between her and Clark will end for good and he will finally start moving towards adulthood and his destiny and his relationship with Lois Laine. I don't even know why that romance lasted for as long as 6 seasons when everyone knows that Lana will never be the real love in Clark's love.

I actually don't think the producers killed Lana off. althought Lois is ultimately the main woman in clark that superman's life, Lana is a big part of young clarks life. I think the whole car bombing was her idea and she staged it to safely get out of Smallville. I think she did it to protect herself and clark. I think she'll be back. Lana just dying in a car bomb like that has hoax written all over it

I'm pretty sure Lana's presence in Smallville account's for a pretty big percentage of the show's current audience. I dont think they would make a huge risk of losing many viewers by taking her off the show at this point in the storyline (especially since so many of the viewers, including me, would like to see how things go now that she finally found out CK's secret). Besides, the way she was killed was too abrupt and left that "hanging" kind of feel. If they were to really write her off the show, I think it would be in a much more creative and "satisfying" way than this...

Tracey, you are truly an idiot. Have you read any of the other posts here? If so, it should be clear that not everyone likes (or loves) Clana or thier chemistry. And your idiocy further blooms with your statement:

Smallville is not only known about Clark having superpowers, but everyone loves Smallville for the chemistry of Clark and Lana. They belong together and after 6 six seasons of the produers teasing us on there on and off again relationship. If they are going to have her kicked off the show in that way of not being able to say goodye I am truly sad that I ever watched this show.

Kristin Kreuk played Lana Lang for six years, is the leading lady, and a constant ground for Clark Kent. And face it; her "death" was pathetic. If the writers find the character to be destructive to the overall integrity to the show, pull a Pete Ross on her; she leaves as she is unable to deal with Clark's secret.

Recall the episode where Clark Kent turns back time to save Lana, and by consequence his father Jonathon died. Raise your hand if you think that killing off the woman Clark trades his father's life for in an anonymous car bombing detracts from the shows credibility.

Following that argument which I hope to be logical and neutral, I may now insert my bias. I've loved the character of Lana Lang just as much as all the other characters of the show. The people who dislike her because of her apparent excess of dialogue and her integral part in Clark's life should perhaps just fast forward to mindless special effects and not pay attention to any sort of plot or character interaction, because it seems you take offense at Lana Lang having depth of character.

True, the character has had ups and downs, one most often cited as in the episode 'Thirst'. Another reason cited was that Kristin Kreuk is just eye-candy... you're telling me Lois Lane, and Chloe, AREN'T? All the characters have this at one point or another. Smallville has its high points and low points; Lana Lang is NOT a low point.

If the people running this thing have to take her out of the equation... at least do it properly.

I agree that this is most likely a contract negotiation tactic. Where else are any of these people going to work again now that they're so solidly cemented in audiences' heads as these characters? B-rate comedies or horror flicks and beauty product commercials? They need to stockpile cash now. I have no doubt she'll be back in season 7, and I will use my power as a viewer (aka the remote control) to fast forward through her whining about her dead parents or her bad choices or her dead parents' bad choices. That's right, Lana, unlike your men and your viewing audience, your parents got to DIE to escape your voice!

I think they've messed with the Superman myth more than enough already and the older the characters get, the closer they need to sway it towards the movie/comic canon, and if she's alive in those, she can hardly die now, more's the pity.

I think it's interesting how so many people have a deep and abiding passion for both the character and the actress that seems to be based on nothing more than the fact that the former is Clark's first love and the latter is petite & attractive. The characterisation of Lana makes most of the grown women I know shudder as they feel she belongs in a Mills & Boon (clinging first to the football blondie, then the hero, now the billionaire. Way to grow a spine & an independant personality little girl.) As for the actress... She's not significantly less wooden than when she began Smallville which is a truly astounding achievement. Even TW emoted a dozen times in Season 6 (after 5 painful seasons of recycled Blue Steel)and he's much prettier than she is and therefore needs to rely less on talent.

Lana is relegated to the back burner in Clark's adult life, as the most superficial awareness of the Comic/Movie 'verse should tell you, so does it not make sense that, as you Evil-up Lex to become the villain, Lana has to fall further and further by the wayside?

With all due respect to CW, as an avid fan to Smallville, (having the complete series DVD collection) you just can't simply ommit Lana Lang from Smallville. It would be very unfair having Chloe who's just inserted character while Lana Lang is truly included in the Superman legacy. No offense to all chloe's fans but I like Lana around. You just can't ignore the great chemistry of Tom and Kristin, this is the only reason why i'm watching the series. You must admit, it will never die. For instance you been planning alot before how to broke these two, but you will end up patching them together again. No matter what you do, Lana and Clark will always end up having each other. Lois Lane might be the future, but the future has been shown to us. The whole reason of having Smallville is to let the fans see the enduring life of Clark Kent before he became SUPERMAN.... The show may not survive this long w/o Lana Lang...Believe me.

I can't see how anyone who's been watching Smallville from the beginning would want to see Lana gone. She is a major part of the show & definately should return. I understand why some of you want her gone so Clark can move on with his life or other possible relationships, but the producers should be able to come up with another way to do that besides killing her off. Didn't she just find out about Clark's powers not too long ago, I wanna see how she handles that for sure. PLEASE DON'T TAKE HER OFF.

Smallville without Lana is nothing! Whether you hate her or like her, she's the leading lady of the show.
Kristin has incredible chemistry with Tom and that would be a waste to see her leave.
Also, this "death" was not really believable. Even Clark's grief was not that dramatic. I think that when u kill ur leading lady (when u decide to do so), u need to offer her a decent death!
What's hilarious is that people want to stick to the Superman mythology BUT they wanna keep Chloe (who's never been in the mythology) and kill Lana (who's in it and IS Clark's confident)!

Bottom line: Lana disappearing for good will really make me consider quit watching Smallville eventhough I love the other actors...

I love Lana, she is my favorite female on Smallville. She is also a very gifted actress, and brings so much to the show. I was hoping that she faked her death somehow and that she would be back sometime during season 7. Clark and Lana forever!!!

They need to bring back the tv shows that they where showing not these knew tv shows i got hook on hidden palms and charmed they need to bring it back one tree hill better come back and gilmore girls too and smallville all come back on the cw they should bring back the wb at less they tell you when the tv shows are going to start and they will let you know on tv or on the computer they should come back and start when school starts .??

to see Bazzarro get his butt kicked by Clark. Bring in Batman bring back green Arrow, Cyborg,Aquaman and Flash. Bring in Wonder Woman who should be Cloe and Steel played by somebody other than Shaq and Green Lantern and we deffinetly have the Justice League on Smallville.

A seson seven without lana will be a disaster, i mean she is caught up in the middle of two guys, whom i she love and the other was for the protection, who wouldn't want a drama of that sort in a movie, lana and clark deserves to be to gether no matter what the circumstances, the eriters can make up a story like, she entered the car but clark was there or something similar to that, all i'm trying to say is that smallville isnt really smaville without lana lane.

If Lana is not dead, there has to be some romance between her and Clark before he is able to move on. I know this is about Lana, but the real chemistry is between Chloe and Clark. They should have killed of Lois, and a distraught Chloe would have picked up Lois as her pen name. The real romance and chemistry could start. I know that Lois finds out about Clark much later in the comics, but the chemistry is great!

Ditto to having all the DVDs and not buying them because of KK/Lana, but rather for the Clark-Lex interaction, the heart of the show. I may point out faults and flaws in my favorite show, but that only means I care about it and want it to be made better. Smallville doesn't revolve around Lana, even if she is touted as the female lead.

If she is to stay, I hope the writers give her a better, more logical storyline; rather than being the passive-aggressive prize that the men are fighting for, why not get to her to stand on her own? Yeah, she did some of that in Season6, but she still had to rely on the Luthor name and money. She could do better than that, she needs to do it on her own. And if the only way she could achieve that is by being away from Smallville, then so be it.

To reiterate my original post, the show would take some getting used to without Lana around. But then, viewers could focus again on Clark and Lex.

"Money speaks louder than rants." Well, the showrunners should then listen and read the rants to make the show better, get back the viewers they lost, AND make more money in the end. Besides, ratings also play a big part in a show's lifespan. Don't knock it.

A dead Lana is the best thing that could happen to this show. I didn't mind high school Lana but ever since then she has just been an utter nightmare.

Ah, no it doesn't. How do you come to that conclusion? All that means is that the people buying the SV DVDs like THE SHOW. It doesn't mean that they worship at the altar of Lana, or even care if she's there or not. It just means they are fans of the show. Sure, some of them like Lana. And some of them don't. I have all the DVD's, and Lana can stay or go, I really couldn't care less. I'm watching the show for Clark first and foremost, and Lex secondarily. The Lana character is mostly just whiney window dressing, and the show would lose almost nothing if she was gone. If she stays, I hope they figure out how to write her character, standing on her own, without tagging her with "object of desire". And I hope they wrap up the played out Clana romance.

Get a clue "Abe". If all the anti-Lana posts are written by the same person are all the pro-Lana posts written by the same person too? And are you suggesting that DVD and episode sales are all attributed to Lana Lang/KK? I have no doubt that she certainly contributes to it but she isn't the only actor/actress. Please just accept that fact that there are many SV fans that simply don't like the Lana Lang character. The anti lana tirades are all written by the same poster under different names. This site makes a point to sell the anti-lana campaign. What is the point? Smallville DVDs makes a profit of $100 million for WB. Each episode is sold to ABC for $400,000 per episode. Is CW so stupid they can't add $$$. This site is an embarrassment to CW and a complete disservice to the actors. KK will be back and CW will pay her to stay on Season 8. The Smallville DVDs will continue to make a profit for WB and ABC will buy another season paying $400,000 per episode times 22 episodes a year, which is another eight to nine million to WB.

Lana is basically the reason I don't watch Smallville. She bores me to death and takes time away from more interesting characters like Chloe. If the show was less Blah blah blah, Lana, I would tune in more than twice a season -- because every time I tune in it's the same Blah blah blah, Lana thing.

I am not a regular viewer of Smallville; any portions of it I have ever watched were actually out of curiosity to see what the buzz was about (seeing how this is one of CW's higher rated shows), but mainly due to waiting for Supernatural to come on. I do have to say that I have watched this show enough times to know that Lana Lang grates on me; even if I were to become a regular viewer, I probably wouldn't last long because her character is just so amazingly irritating and needy. I agree with other posters who said:
"It would be a blessed relief not to have to watch and cringe as Clark and Lex fight over her, while everyone else comments on how beautiful she is and how she must be loved;"
"If anyone needs to get a life, its people who believe that KK is all that Smallville is about, and the rest of the actors mean nothing or don't have substantial fanbases on their own;"

I hope we get a few Lana-free episodes. She sucks the life out of the show and makes Clark boring.

Lana been in the comics since the 1950's as the female lead character in Clark's life in Smallville.

Lois is going to be the new and best love of Clark's life and that's how it's supposed to be. Just like in real life we have our puppy loves for age 14 to 21 and then real life kicks in and we (hopefully) find REAL LOVE.

Now, with all of that said, i don't hink she died in that exposion, she's hiding out from the deadly grips of LL. She'll show up again and then disappear for good. The character that should have never died is Clarks father, he's supposed to be there through everything. The show really went topsy tervy when he left, it threw off the entire story.

Lana, Lana, Lana...Um...Just leave already. Disappear from my screen once and for all. You pretty much emotionally screwed all men on this show.

Killing Lana off might actually save Smallville. Clark is entirely unlikeable around her - he's not a hero at all, but on a leash like a little dog to someone who isn't worth it.
I have nothing against the actress but the character is horrible and ruined this show for me as early as Season 2.

I've long since given up trying to dispel the delusions that Lana-fans have about the character's popularity. Is Lana actually going to be gone though? My guess is that it's not likely, but there is an outside chance. Spoilers for next season indicate that Justin Hartley, Phil Morris, and Aaron Ashmore will both be back, the latter as a regular member of the cast. Also, there will be other additions to the cast, most notably Supergirl, who will apparently be flying, which is an expensive special effect. All this, at a time when the Canadian dollar has reached near-parity with its American counterpart, which of course makes the show much more expensive to shoot. Also, the abysmal ratings of the last half of season six, which were, not incidentally, largely due to the show's obsession with Lana, suggest that the network will be unlikely to increase the show's budget significantly, if at all. Meanwhile, those members of the regular cast who are returning will generally get contractually-mandated raises. So where is all the money for these new members of the cast and special effects going to come from? They'll save some money by not having to pay Annette O'Toole anymore, but is that going to be enough? And if Kreuk is demanding more money to come back, well....In any case, the point raised by Jen, that they start filming next week, is hardly dispositive. Even if Kreuk will be back, she won't necessarily be in the first episode, or even several episodes, of the season; there has been a rumor floating around that she'll only be in fifteen episodes in season seven. So they could easily start filming while continuing negotiations with Kreuk. Of course, it's also possible that the network is deliberately spreading false rumors about Kreuk's leaving simply to create some suspense about whether Lana actually died in "Phantom." I imagine though, that once they start filming, it will become impossible to conceal whether she'll be in the season premiere; there are just too many people on the set. There is one thing I can say for certain: if Lana is back next season, I certainly won't be, and I doubt I'll be alone.

Lana's character became more of a leash for Clark to ever really 'grow up' from his childhood dreams. I have to admit that I let a little 'woohoo' when Lana blew up. I mean how many times does that girl have to die before she finaly stayes dead?However, in the words of Chloe's character; she had better come back to the show. Her character seems to have a positive effect on the show.

If KK is not returning to Smallville, I simply will not watch Smallville. Lana is not a devisive character, she is certainly chronically badmouth by this site. The majority of actual TV viewers watch Smallville because of the three main characters. The internet is another story. A few people on the computer are able to create a virtual reality. The people running this site should not be returning in Season 7. A new crew needs to be on board on this here.

ot sad to hear this news. The Lana Lang character has become very annoying, almost a superfluous character like Pete had become. The show has moved toward Lois Clark and Lex being the focals of the series. Lana has just been an extra cast member. Good Lana, then witch Lana (best storyline with the character) back to nothing Lana. I will miss the Chloe character though.

Ah, Lana. She's ok, but I really don't care for her character anymore. Season 6 was such a mess. She started interesting, you know, getting darker with Lex and all, and BOOM! she then returned to the insecure "Clarkie, I'm in love with you! Soulmates foreva crap." I'm just tired of her and the way Clark acts around her.

Of course I would miss the FEMALE LEAD of this series. KK is apart of the main three and the main three is the foundation of SV and has been that way since the very first episode
"Pilot". Like it or not, that is just the plain truth or the situation. Her relationship with both Clark and Lex is considered an essential organ to SV (along with the clex relationship), so if she were to leave or if the show were to get rid of her, then it would definitely feel as if something was missing. *shrugs*

Kristin Kreuk is a good actress, but her character on SV is just incredibly annoying and inconsistent. I don't see her purpose on the show anymore. Honestly? I wouldn't miss her if she decides to leave. Time to move Clark into the future.

The WB has always promoted KK right along TW in all their promos and trailers, MR was the one who was frequently absent from promos and trailers. and even today, all i see on the CW are smallville promos with TW and KK as well as KK's Neutrogena commercials every other hour. and have you even seen the show? lana has always been a major part of the show, with clark AND lex, the other LEADS of the show.

Why wouldn't I? Her character has grown and matured sooooo much over the season. She's ALWAYS been a huge part of the show. It won't be the same without her. Doesn't matter if this show is about Clark and his journey, because Lana is a big part of Clark and his journey.

If any here don't miss her, well that is the writer's fault not the actress. The character has been shucked from one abusive boyfriend(so many can't even name them all) to another playing the victim time after time.

Can't blame Kristin if she wants to leave either, it has to be tiring to replay the same scenes over and over again.

this show has always been about clark, lana, and lex. the show's main relationship has always been clana. general viewers of smallville favour clana and lana over chloe and lois, and most lana/clana-centric episodes have always had some of the highest ratings of this series.

i'd miss KK if she left smallville and i wouldn't watch anymore, but we all know al and miles aren't stupid or crazy enough to let their goldmine go. but a part of me that wants KK to leave just so i can see smallville get cancelled 3 episodes into the season.

Now about Season 8? Well, that's different since I know she hasn't signed on yet.

I think Lana should come back, somewhere mid-season, to provide closure to the drawn out Clana stuff, and have her and Clark can be the lifelong friends that they are supposed to be. That would serve the story in the best way, while still moving all the characters forward.

If she doesn't come back, the show will be just fine. In fact, I don't think it will have much of an effect at all. Only the Lana/KK fanatics live and die by her appearances on the show, and I strongly suspect most of SV's viewers are watching for the show in general. Not just one actress. If anyone needs to get a life, its people who believe that KK is all that Smallville is about, and the rest of the actors mean nothing or don't have substantial fanbases on their own.

For me, as long as the show continues to be about Clark Kent, with TW playing him, I'll watch. Other actors and actresses can come and go. But Clark is the heart of the show.

If KK doesn't return, I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.

Awww, poor Scott, you disillusioned thing you. Clark and Lana are so NOT the show. A popular couple perhaps, but definitely not the show. Clark? Yes. Lex? Yes. Chloe, Lois and Lana are all just "fillers" to the master legends that are Clex. Just to help you out Scott, this show is about young Superman, and THAT is the show.

Lana Lang has had a long and glorious run complete with all the "she must be loved" they could give her. I say RIP Lana Lang; then I feel pity for those in hell with her. An eternity of Lana Lang is just unfathomable.

Why do Allison Mack fans always feel the need to compare Kristin to Allison or Allison to Kristin? If Allison as awesome as you guys believe she is, shouldn't that be enough? No need to remind people of it by comparing her to other actresses.

KK has nothing going for her as an actress. Maybe it's the role, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, but the range of emotions she is able to display (compared to the magnificent AM) is limited to put it mildly. She should seek another line of work.

It really bothers me that she's being such a prima donna. If a great actor like Rosenbaum is "stuck" on the show for one more year - she should be too. She tanked the show and she should go down with the ship.

first I like KK. her character? honestly, i've always been lukewarm to lana lang in the comic strip (i always rooted for lois lane) so i'll leave that to the writers and producers of the show. certainly as an actor, hopefully KK would want writing that challenges her craft and skill. that said, since i am not privy to her negotiations i can only assume it's gotta be more that just the money.

quite frankly, i'm not sure whether i'll miss her character but the show needs to close up the story line on her death, i.e., either come up with a dead body or say that everything was a dream (a la Dallas) and that lana left lex to go into hiding. hopefully the writers can tie up loose ends in a more creative manner then i've stated here.

also, whether or not fans and foe like it, lana is a principal love interest to one of its "major super heroes," so i'm not sure whether DC comics will allow that character (lana) to "just die." (someone, correct me if i'm wrong, but DC comics still own the rights to its original characters?) it would make more sense for the character of chloe sullivan to die. (i love AM and think she's too good of an actor for this show--she needs to be doing other acting gigs.)

if the producers and network are planning for a S8 after S7, it makes a LOT of creative sense to lose lana lang. i guess the question is "how?" for myself personally, i'm really more interested about how the producers will write off lex luthor. that man will NEVER die.

Lana was a parasite on this show since S2. Never having any reason to be on screen despite being a passive love interest she sucked all the potential out of this show. Seeing this character finally go may be the best thing that I've seen on this show for years.

I don't really care either way. On one side, S7 is already sounding pretty busy w/Supergirl, the new DP editor, GA returning, Jimmy being in more episodes, possibly the last season... Also, it would be so awesome if Lex really did kill his wife, Lana not being dead is predictable, and she knows everything now. How are they going to stop her and Clark from marrying? :P

Lana always gets stuck with the worst plot-lines - or rather the same plot-line over and over: she trusts a boy and he does her wrong. Yawn. It's boring & KK is probably the most bored with it.

Maybe with Lana gone Clark and Lex can stop uttering such stupid lines as "My greatest power is to hurt Lana", "Letting Lana go is the hardest thing I've ever had to do", "Saying ['I don't love you' to Lana] was the hardest thing I've ever had to do", Lex waiting at the altar to see if Lana was going to show up was the "hardest thing he ever had to endure". Smallville has turned the greatest superhero and his nemesis into lobotomized 15 year old boys fighting over a vapid, self-centered twit.

And maybe, if we're lucky, we might have a Clark/Lex conversation that doesn't degenerate into a pissing contest over Lana.

Miss her? God, no. I will dance on her grave!!! The show's handling of Lana has made her the most unlikeable, aggravating and useless character on television.

"Will I miss her?" --- No. Absolutely.

Smallville without the Langst wouldn't be strange. Yes, it would take some getting used to, given that 6years had been a lot to endure and that one must've built quite a resistance/immunity during that time. But overall, it will be a major godsend.

Strange? No. It would be a blessed relief not to have to watch and cringe as Clark and Lex fight over her, while everyone else comments on how beautiful she is and how she must be loved. I hope she stays dead. Then maybe we might actually get an enjoyable season of Smallville. The funny thing is the actress knows that her character has long outstayed her welcome. The show runners sadly never got that. What a waste of great characters like Clark and Lex on *her*.
