Smallville: SuperLana Goes After Lex!

This episode of Smallville was full of uncomfortable moments - some intentional, some we're not so sure about. Did anyone else feel sort of skeeved out about Clark and Lana causing seismic tremors during their Krypto-enhanced bouncy session? That's just... ew. We're not so sure how we feel about Grant Gabriel staring at Lois' bare butt hanging out of the hospital gown, either. We're glad he enjoyed the view, dude, but again, that really is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

But enough about the uncomfortable bits. How did you like butt-kicking Krypto-enhanced Lana? And did she have the severe black leather jacket and boots already, or did her Krypto-powers prompt her to go shopping for some bad-ass, villainous duds? Hey, we think about things like this.

We have to admit, we kind of liked seeing Lana getting her evil on - and seeing Clark and Chloe finally realize that she's not the sweet little girl they've always believed her to be. Plus, Lana totally called Clark on idealizing her as something unendingly good and pure, which we think rocked. She made her own decisions, Clark, so don't try to dismiss them.

We were also intrigued by the prospects for a Ladies of Smallville Smackdown. First, Lana backhands Lois through a window - Yipe! We imagine Lois will want a rematch at some point. Then, Chloe basically tells Lana that she'll have to go through our Girl Reporter if she wants to hurt Clark. So many possibilities!

We also seem to have confirmation that Grant is working for one of the Luthors, doing everything he can to protect their secrets. Do you think he's working for Lex, Lionel or someone else? And what will Lois do when she finds out? Poor Lois - she seems to have such lousy luck when it comes to guys who keep secrets.

Finally, there's the sentient green goo from Brainiac's ship. What is it? What's it going to do, now that it's escaped and taken over a human being? Is it good or evil? So many questions!

What did you think of the episode? Were you loving SuperLana, or was it not your idea of a good time? Do you wonder if there's going to be a fight between the three main ladies of the show? Will Clark stay with Lana now that he knows she's got a dark side? And just what is the alien substance going to do? vote in our polls, and talk about it in the comments!

support KK,all the fault are attribute to clark

lana rocked in this episode. I loved how she kicked lois threw the glass window.

Lana lang is the MOST FENOMENAL character on television nowadays.KK also one of most discussed on ASKMEN.

Excuse me, but Clark, Lex, AND Lana are the main characters, the top three. Just because Clark and Lex are the main characters in every other little Superman interpretation doesn't make it so as far as THIS show is concerned. You really need to look past this comic stuff and look at this show for what it is. Lana isn't some burden on Clark's part. She IS the love of his life and anyone next to her will be sloppy seconds. That's just the way it is. And stop the bleeding heart about Lex. He's supposed to be the villian.

Oh, and by the way, as stated by Miss Lang herself, Lana loves Clark, not Lex.

MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN KRISTIN KREUK.people magazine,2007.

Lana is the worst character in the history of television.

Let's all hope that Clana is over now. It's far past due to do somethng with this character who has been sinking the show for over 6 years now. It's time that Clark give his heart to Chloe who actually loves him and believes in him. If there's any hope that "this" Clark Kent will ever become Superman, he has to be rid of Lana Lang and recognize her for the evil character that she is. Clark can't continue to have this awful woman in his life, and it starts by kicking her off the farm before she does him any harm.

The Chloe & Lana confrontation was good, but Chloe needs to be even more firm. Chloe needs to tell Lana that she loves Clark and call Lana out on her evil to let her know that she will not allow her to lie to Clark or harm him in any way. I want Chlark vs. Lexana.

Lex and Lana belong together, and they make a far more interesting couple on the show. Maybe the show could actually be interesting once again. Chlark vs. Lexana would give us clear villians and clear heroes. I say let the battle begin now. Moreover, it's time for Clark to start flying now. There's no excuse for Bizarro and Kara to fly and not have Clark Kent flying. The time for Chlark is now and it's time for Clark to finally step up and fly. Chloe has already told Clark that he needs to get on top of that ability, so now's the time.

Another thing that made me mad in this episode is when Lex kissed Lana, she kissed him back. Yet, she's in love with Clark now. We need more action shows between Clark and bad guys. I liked what Chloe told Lana; I just hope when the time comes, she steps up and acts on her words.

It is insulting to have people claim I dislike Lana Lang because I am a geek who cannot get past the Superman comics, because KK's beauty has blinded me, or that I cannot appreciate the depth and subtle writing of this complex character. Let me to share a few alternatives:

Lana is a tremendous anchor on both Clark and Lex, the alleged lead characters of Smallville. Clark is not yet a hero to the world… because he wants to stay on the farm with Lana. Lex’s entire season six arc was dedicated to Lana, including the absurdity of NotBabyGate and the Lana Clone. The Rift and the great Superman / Luthor rivalry is not because of conflicting points of view or good versus evil – it is about who has Lana. Clark acts his absolutely least heroic around Lana. He becomes a Big Dumb Alien. I hope Batman and the Justice League rock in the Smallville universe, because I have little faith this Clark Kent will be saving the world if Lana needs him to help hang curtains.

Clana is repetitive, dull and the same old story year after year. Lana has a boyfriend, he dies / goes evil, she leaves him for Clark, then she breaks up with Clark and acts like a bitch, then she wants to get back together with Clark… I get it. Whitney/Clark, Adam / Clark, Clark / Jason, Jason / Clark, Clark / Lex, Lex / Clark, over and over and over again. Now, the big hook for season seven is that Lana is keeping secrets? Wow, how… predictable. This relationship has been done to death, resurrected, killed again and risen from its grave some kind of brain-eating pink zombie. It stopped being amusing years ago. Hook Clark up with Chloe, Lois, Lex, or some random FotW – just end Clana already!

Everyone else gets dumber around Lana. Clark, Lex, Chloe, Lionel – everyone is made to look like a dull-witted hamster so she can be so Very Smart. I know this, because Lex, Lionel, Chloe and Clark keep telling me how Very Smart Lana is every week. Even the recurring cast like Lois and Kara have to say how great Lana is, how lucky Clark is to have her, and gosh darn great she is.

Lana magically gets skills and abilities when they are needed, like she is a dress up doll for Al and Miles. We have seen Business Owner Lana, who as a teen went to Smallville High and at the same time managed the Talon so well Martha Kent needed to ask her for advice. Artist Lana, who got a full scholarship to art school in Paris, despite showing zero talent or interest in art at any point prior to that. Lanabelle / Mulana is a rants in and of itself. Other classics include Astrology Major Lana, Drug Addict Lana (Void), Evil Lana 1.0 (Arrow), Rich Wife Lana and Evil Lana 2.0 (Nemesis). This season, we get Martha Stewart Lana and Super Villain Lana. How does she get these amazing abilities? Who cares?

There are lots of good reasons to hate Lana Lang. And I seem to be given more every week by Smallville.

TOO BAD,CAUSE ALMILES SAID THAT LANA WILL BE THE ONE WHO WILL LEAVE CLARK.AND CLARK WILL NEVER COMPLETY GET OVER HER!

Usually, I'm bored by Lana but evil, unapologetic Lana is fun. Bet she goes back to Lex when Clark breaks up with her. (But I'd still rather Pete took her away from Smallville forever!)

its time for clark to leave lana and start to learn how to fly.

GOD,I REALLY LOVE KRISTIN/LANA.THE OTHER TWO DONT EVEN COMPARE!

No matter what's been carved in fifty year old stone, Clark and Lana's love is forever.

To the site owner.

you do a great job on this site. I totally love the comments you write at the begining (of each episode each week.) I laugh so much it makes my day great. You are so funny and i love it. I really enjoy reading all the other coments from the people; it really gives an insite into what they like/dislike about the show and its characters. Keep up the great work and dont stop being hilariously humorous

I dont think smallville is about superman, not really. It is about all the CRAP the makers of the show want to put in it. IT JUST DOEST MAKE SENSE SOMETIMES. There have been some awsome episodes but some are just downright brain damaging. Get a grip guys.

This epi was soooo yuk!!!! especially the Sexual tremors.PLZ dont do that ever again... Clark is a man now please show him to be one especially in the presense of Lana. What has gotten into the script writers, producers and directors??? Do they think we are that desptrate to see Clana No thanks. Come on people get some good story lines and end all the crap of Teenage Angst.
NO MORE PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEZE NO MORE CLARK AND LANA.

Back from the weekend and I need to add something to this. I am so sick and tired of people blaming Lana because Clark has yet to slip on a pair of tights with his underwear on the outside and fly off to save the world. NEWSFLASH AHEAD! None of that is Lana's fault. Clark wasn't even aware of this little destiny thing until the end of season 2 and he himself rebelled against the great Jor-el for years after that. When Clark tried to go to the fortress this season, again the great Jor-el told him to stay behind and babysit Cousin Kara, which is what he's doing. Do NOT try to blame Lana for Clark's lack of maturity or any of that because just like Lana messed up royally in this episode, Clark needs to take responsibility for Clark. Also, Lana will most likely be the one to nudge the man she loves towards his sixty year old destiny. Or did everyone just tune out the events of Action?

lol, i love all these comments about all the "clana" stuff. i agree whole-heartedly about them making woopie all the time...it needs to stop. i mean this is like what, a PG-13 show? too many sexual inuendoes. Lana and Clark need to split and he needs to find another girl to be with. Doesnt he need to be working toward Lois? Aside from all this, I am excited to see what next weeks' episode will bring.

OMG! this episode was gud but some scenes were pure CRAP! the clana complex needs TO GO! CHLARK ALL THE WAY! I mean c'mon!! Lana was a freakin %$^&# in this episode. beating everyone upp. READ A BOOK! ohh yay they had sex but did they really have to send tremors all over Smallvile? im glad that lana kicked lois out of the glass window cuz i really dont like her! THANK JESUS Chloe called Lana out on her Crap! Chloe was there all along but this damn fool named Clark Kent goes goo goo ga ga over Lana. and they expent this guy 2 b superman wen he cant even keep it in his pants? Geez! I hope Chloe and Lana duke it out and Chloe kicks Lanas ass!

Love this episode. There is a reason why Smallville has the highest rating for CW and why WB sells millions of Smallville DVDs. Just love the Lana character and love the Clark-Lana chemistry. I think I know where the writers are going. They are doing their best to keep the Clark-Lana relationship fresh. By the end of this season, Clark and Lana will become bitter enemies. In Season 8, Clark will save Lana's soul. Just love seeing them together.

NO MORE KARA!MORE LANA PLEASE!

Yeah, Lana is amazing. She is the best female character ever made. She's smart and strong and perfect in every way. *pukes* As someone who started watching SV in the last couple years, I've gotta say those ads I've seen lied. SV isn't the show of young Superman, it's the Lana show.

Those of you who like her get off your high horse. I want to see the story of Clark Kent and how he becomes Superman, not a show about how Clark Kent is a weak little boy around Lana Lang.

Since clark's mother comes to smallville in "Blue" the coming of his father should not be far away i mean come on it should be like a family gathering kara her father and clark's whole family including his mother the senator.also since lex is leavig i season 7 i believe his part should end with a bang it not so bad for him to have some power. and what happened to lex's Ares porject it just going to sit thier or will someone find it out and continue with what he was doing. also the real superman loves Lois not Lana so i think they should start seeing each other and find out each others secrets maybe she can find a good story to write what happened to Mr. Green he cannot just be part of an old season he should come back maybe become evil or something and in fierce what happened to that silver thing those ladies had that should have something to do with in the coming epcs o smallville

Kara is super hot!!!!!!!!
We should see more of her

lovin this Episode but clark needs to start flying and needs to find out more bout his family and the phantomout therre. Lois shouldshe was have a power cause effected by Chloe's power.

Clark will always be reduced to a little boy by Lana. By the time he dons the cape and falls for lois he has matured, but in every young superman storyline there was always a place in his heart for lana. She was his first true love, and one of his first great confidants still don't know where the Chloe angle comes from.

KRISTIN KREUK U R SOOO NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL.THE PRETTIEST WOMAN ON CW.

I thought this epi will be a good one for everyone to like bad ass Lana but the first 10mins of the epi make me puke, I am sorry is it necessary to have the sex thingy???? The first thing in their mind was just sex, I thought it could be something great that they can talk about the power. Well I end up forwarding the show until Chloe calling Lana crap, that really make my days.

Word. Clana and Lana are getting on my nerves. I admit. I liked them back in season 2, but they are just so freaking boring now. Clark acts like a complete moron around her. This has go to stop.

To be honest, I don't feel all that strongly about Lana one way or the other -- sometimes she works, sometimes she doesn't. What drives me CRAZY is comments where people say "If you don't love everything about Lana at all times, it's because you're evil and jealous!" That's a lousy argument that deserves a sarcastic response.

All you lana haterz shut up u guys are just jealous cause she's better looking than all of u. I love this episode and i love clark and lana. Dont like lois she looks old and chloe like her but she needs to back off lana, maybe kara will beat the crap out of chloe. Oh Tasha love your comment its so true.

Enough about Lana-
It was better when we all thought she was DEAD... isn't this like the 2nd time they've revived her???? She needs to go, and we need to see Clark Fly (more)already

Still wants to see Lana & Clark end up together for good til the show or series finale!! they belong together people!!!

All right, fine, little Miss Sarcasm, tell me the reason you don't like Lana. Let me guess. All that pink she wore in seasons 1-3? Because, of course, real girls don't wear pink, right? Maybe it's because she always has a boyfriend? It's just not fair to every other poor girl in the world. Maybe it's that Clark has yet to stop loving her? Clark, noooooooo, you have to put on your skimpy tights and get with Lois (I swear, most of you are like that boy from Action). Okay, here's a good one. Maybe it's because Lana's always been evil and cruel to the people around her. Wait, no, no. She's been friends with Clark, Lex (big mistake there), Chloe, and even Lois. Oh, right, being too nice is bad. Lana is sooooooo perfect. They write her too perfect. She's just so perfect and no girl is perfect like that, right? Well, Lana, just like every other character makes mistakes, but she doesn't deserve to be ripped apart like all of you have done since, I don't know, the Pilot?

WOWIEEEEE. WOOOHOOO. "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." LOVED THIS EPISODE. puts a new twist on getting even. i absolutely loved the lock-lips between lex and lana!!! WOW that scene smoldered.

clark needs to chill and realize that lana's a woman and her own person. she's been doing some "growing up" of her own ever since season 4. he definitely needs to get over his childish fantasy of lana. hey clarkie: didn't ya know that women talk about men "IN THAT WAY"????!!! (yes, we do indeed discuss performance issues.) ya really need to do some growing up, clark. you can start by loving lana and NOT the "fantasy of lana." if you can't do this, then you need to ditch her for good. and quit whining about her. sigh.

when (or if?) the writers return from their strike, i hope they make clark less of the control freak that he is. geez, i hope he matures during season 7.

oOh, of course! NOW understand why I thought Lana was bad this episode -- I'm just intimidated by the beauty that is Lana, and am too blinded by my slavish devotion to the source material to see the light! How could I have been so blind? The scars of my high school years have oppressed me so that I never realized that Lana represents all that is good and pure and holy in the world. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways!

Kneel before Saint Lana! Confess your doubts, and she will heal you with her shiny, shiny hair and her sparkling eyes and her perfect skin! Give in to the Cult of Lana, and (after the lobotomy) all your fears will be relieved.

Get a grip!

Wowie. Um, Tasha, you really, really need to chill. People are looking at Lana as a villain in this episode because she WAS a villain. I'm not saying she didn't have her motives, but (1) keeping Lionel prisoner, (2) backhanding Lois through a wall, (3) threatening Grant, (4) almost killing Lex and (5) admitting that she'd kill to protect Clark (or anyone) are all signs of being a villain. Plus, there was the skin-tight black leather, which is always a dead giveaway. Black leather=bad. Ever notice how Clark always puts on a black leather jacket when he's under the influence of Red Kryptonite? I rest my case.

This isn't Lana bashing -- hell, I like her better when she's more than just a simpering little idealized girl, and I liked it a lot that she told Clark to stop looking at her that way. Do YOU want her to remain forever good and pure? That's not the way real people -- or even successful comic book characters or TV characters -- really work.

Chloe had every right to call Lana out -- she saw Lana as a potential threat to her friend. Lana needs a reality check. She got one. What she choses to do with that is up to her.

All right, can we step past the Lana bashing? I knew the moment this episode aired, every single one of you would try to make her out to be some kind of villian. Why? Because she's "spying" on Lex? How many times has Chloe hacked into information illegally or followed a lead to help Clark? None of you understand Lana, mainly because a lot of you are either women who are jealous of her, or men who can't get your eyes out of a child's comic book long enough to realize that Smallville is not Superman.

Chloe had NO right to talk to Lana like that. Chloe betrayed Clark in season three just because she saw Clark kiss Lana. Lana went after Lex because he's bad news and, if you want to go for the whole revenge angle, he injected hormones into her then made her have a fake miscarriage! That is sick and if any one of you disagree then you're all a bunch of sick insert-word.

Lana is one of the greatest characters on this show and all of you just look for reasons to pick her apart because you see her as the pretty girl from high school who you were all always jealous of. You people need to grow up.

Clana = Crap

The whole earthquake = sex thing...ewww!!!
I am so sick of the Clark and Lana parts.

I'm not sick of the Clana stuff. Also, I think the directors "know" what there doing. Smallville on the CW has been #1 for the past few years. Last night Chloe was just being over protective of Clark. Which she is with all of friends. Things will turn out good for them all, I hope.

Lana needs to go. I have no problem with getting up and walking around when this show is on now because it's all about Lana.

Get past the boobs and tell the story of Clark Kent/Superman.

Totally agree with Kate above, this Clana sh-- is sooo friggin old and kinda cliche, not to mention GROSS!!!! I mean, Clark looks like a dang wimp when it comes to looney Lana, they need to make him a man, seriously, enough with this puppy love stuff!

Its time for this Lana and Clark show to finally end. I was good to see Chloe take on Lana for the sake of Clarke. Clarke should know that it is and always will be Chloe that will protect him and his secret.

Plus, Lana totally called Clark on idealizing her as something unendingly good and pure, which we think rocked.

Yeah, except for the fact that she's been capitalizing on that very idealization to keep him in the dark about her Lex-stalking.

And.. that black goo (the green stuff was kryptonite) is Brainiac. The ship was Zod's.

Ugh. Lana. I'm sorry, but I can't stand this character. The only thing I liked about this episode was the return of Brainiac (I cannot wait for James to return!), and Chloe calling Lana on her crap. Clark seems to start realizing Lana is not for him, but knowing him, he'll probably forgive everything she did. God, this Clana nonsense needs to end asap. I'm sick and tired of them giving it "another shot".
