90210 Recap: There's No Place Like Homecoming

It's the weekend of Homecoming at West Beverly High and (surprisingly) no one seems to have a date. Annie hasn't been asked, Naomi and Ethan are broken up, Adriana was sent off to rehab. The only couple who seems to be intact is Silver and Dixon, but since she hates the thought of going, she scheduled her wisdom teeth removal for that day. Still, everyone ends up making it to the dance floor before the night is over.

Annie is studying for her driver's permit but still has time to sulk about not having a date to Homecoming - apparently she didn't get the memo that dates are so 2007. It's a good thing Ethan is there to clear this up for her. He says he'd really like to ask Annie to the dance but won't because he isn't ready to date since his breakup with Naomi. Have no fear though - they'll meet on the dance floor later.

Dixon is secretly excited about Homecoming and can't wait to ask Silver to go with him. Since Silver is a rebel without a cause, she thwarts his plans by proclaiming the dance to be stupid and asks him to take care of her while her mouth is stuffed with cotton and she's on plenty of pain medication.

If we had a nickel for every time Naomi flares her nostrils during each episode, we could probably afford to move to Beverly Hills to see them in person! Still angry with Adrianna over the whole drug thing, Naomi's luck gets worse when she is handed detention every day for the rest of the semester. Lucky for her (and for us) there's a new cute bad boy who seems to take interest in her. Even if she isn't giving him the time of day right now, we have a feeling sparks will fly eventually. What strikes us as being the most interesting part of 90210 these days is how easy it is to think Naomi is a bitch and then two seconds later think she's great. For example, she thanks Annie for always being nice to her and invites her to go to the dance with her group.

Adrianna has been put into a rehab facility but can't concentrate on getting better when all she can think about is how badly she has hurt Naomi. She tries desperately to get in touch with her to apologize, but Naomi isn't hearing it. Seemingly out of the blue, Navid shows up to be a crutch for Adrianna. He brings magazines, things for her to doodle with and some hair care products. It seemed a bit odd to us that he had taken such an interest in the fallen starlet. She begs him to bring Naomi to her so that she can apologize in person. When he can't produce the goods, Adrianna takes matters into her own hands and escapes to the dance.

When Silver's pain medication wears off she gets a phone call from Annie - who tells her how badly Dixon really wanted to go to Homecoming. Silver wakes up her sleeping boyfriend and is all dressed and ready to go to the dance. He's happy, she's happy, they're cute - le sigh.

Back at the dance, Naomi goes to get punch for herself and her new friend and Annie takes the opportunity to have her dance with Ethan. They get close on the dance floor and poor Naomi is left holding two glasses full of punch. Our handsome detention guy insists on taking her for a spin and we have to admit - they make a pretty cute couple! Still, this doesn't help Naomi's hurt feelings about seeing Annie and Ethan together. She tries to talk to Annie about this but gets interrupted by Adrianna who is pleading with her to accept her apology. Naomi says that she can't because it's just too hard. This sends Adrianna off running to the nearest drug dealer. Navid runs after her and breaks the deal off (and receives a punch to the face). It's now his turn to plead with Adrianna. We find out the two used to be close friends. We weren't really sure if the feelings he was professing to her were romantic or not, but they were definitely from the heart. We're happy to finally have some interesting backstory on Navid! He's not just a pornographer's son anymore and he actually seems like a really interesting character that we're hoping we get to see developed more.

Even though Adrianna almost overdosed, the other students at West Beverly are continuing to abuse drugs. Hot teacher Ryan sees his new student buying drugs and takes her to Harry's office. When Harry doesn't seem all that concerned, Ryan gets angry and says he will go over his head to anyone who will listen. This prompts Kimberly to tell him, "I'm a cop, you idiot," which confuses him but then also must've excited him since he goes in for the kiss later.

When Adrianna stormed off, Naomi and Annie have a heart-to-heart. Annie talks Naomi into forgiving Adrianna. Naomi explains that they can't really be friends if Annie starts to date Ethan. Annie seemed to get irritated by Naomi's logic but she made a lot of sense. Why would Naomi want to hear about Annie and Ethan's relationship? How can they be friends if they can't talk about who they're dating with each other? Finally it struck a chord with Annie and she told Ethan she couldn't date him because she couldn't backstab Naomi. Or at least she couldn't for a whole five minutes - then it was time to get the knife sharpener out and jab away! There we had it, Ethan and Annie's first (and very long) kiss. Let the feud begin in t-minus next episode.

Hey Anna, we'd love to do a podcast for it but there just isn't enough time in the day/week to do it. Trust me, if all we had to do was podcast all day, we'd be covering everything!

When will the 10/28/08 episode of 90210 be rebroadcast? Thank you.

Why isn't there a podcast for 90210?
