Gossip Girl: A Star is Born

Usually when shows start bringing in big-name guest stars to spice things up, it foreshadows a "jump-the-shark" moment. Gossip Girl just may buck this trend despite inviting talk-show diva Tyra Banks and former Disney queen Hilary Duff into the lives of the GG crew. Instead of reeking like a cheap ploy to attract viewers, the cameos added an extra bounce to the engaging episode. Here are some of the stand-out moments:

Unlikeliest team-up: Chuck and Jenny. Who knew these two would ever join forces for the good of Blair?

impression: Rufus imitating Lily. Our favorite James Blunt look-a-like has got Lily's uptight mannerisms down.

Best club: Masters of the Universe. We wouldn't mind hanging out for an afternoon chatting about the merits of He-Man. We'd also like to see She-Ra added in there for good measure. Unfortunately, Blair doesn't share our nostalgia gene.

Best missing character due to another commitment on a different network: Georgina. Apparently, it's out of sight, out of mind for Dan.

Best fashion comeback: Headbands. Constance just isn't the same without them.

Best throwback to an Academy Award-winning film: Jenny filling in for Sally Field in "Norma Rae." Jenny might not be fighting for unionization, but, in a way, she's still championing women's rights. Her table-top speech to the girls at Constance almost made us tear up.

Worst drunk dial that didn't even take place under the influence: Vanessa calling Scott. Why? Did we not agree that a relationship between the two is impossible? And to make matters worse, he blows her off…for Georgina!

Best bribe: Chuck paying off that photographer to take Blair's picture at the movie premiere. Again, Chuck proves himself as the consummate boyfriend. For Blair, that is.

Most unrealistic moment: Serena trying to find a job. Really? Seriously? And where is Serena moving to if she leaves the homestead?

Best lines: "Remember, I'm Chuck Bass and I love you." Awwwww…….
"By the way, sandals are not shoes." Blair at her best.
"Make no mistake, I'm back and she's going to Brown." Lily, the wicked witch of the penthouse.

What did you think? Should Serena just suck it up and go to college? Will she ever "find" herself? We can't wait to see Blair try to win over the flock at NYU. How about you? Can she do it? Or will she be regulated to hosting high school sleepovers for the rest of her college days?

I loved this episode! I LOVED Hilary Duff! I have always been a big fan! BUT, I did have a problem with Serena! I just hate her! I also didn't like Lily! She has no right to blame the whole Serena thing on Rufus!

WHERE IS THE GG PODCAST? :( :(

This is what I want: I want Serena from the Season 1 debutante ball who told her mother she might be a teacher overseas someday to come back. Enough with the idiocy - who cares if you don't know what to major in, no one does. And Chuck needs to get a bachelor's degree in business before all this development nonsense.
