Gossip Girl: Love is a Battlefield

Everyone loves a wedding. Especially Lily (insert the last name of the husband she happens to be attached to at the moment). Gossip Girl brimmed with love and tongue-in-cheek song lyrics this week. We got the long-awaited marriage of Lily and Rufus and a few other touchy-feely moments that only their brood can provide. And the truth about Scott's parentage is finally out in the open. The Brady Bunch has nothing on these folks. Here are some moments we especially fancied:

Cutest long distance relationship: Dan and Olivia. He better get an unlimited texting plan.

Best bribe: Georgina giving Vanessa the business. It's pretty hard not to go along with the she-devil, when her closing line is, "Who are you gonna hang out with when all the Humphreys hate you?" Exactly!

Best "Parent Trap" moment: Dan and Serena trying to get their parents back together. They may not be twins. They may not even be related. But, these two know a good thing when they see it. We're just sorry they didn't get a chance to sing, "Let's Get Together."

Best cave-in: Vanessa spilling her guts to Dan. So, it doesn't take much to bribe or her to get her tell a secret. Who knew Vanessa was so wishy-washy?

Best make-over: Dorota at the wedding. You can take the girl out of the maid's outfit, but you can't take the maid out of the girl.

Best guest appearance: Sonic Youth. The alt-rockers must really want to get in good with the Millennials.

Best reason to dump someone: "It's Texas." Really, that was Bree's reasoning for choosing her family over Nate?

Best dressed: Serena's black dress at the wedding. For once Serena's boobs weren't shoved in our faces. Demure – look it up Serena. It could be your new mantra.

Some random thoughts: Why are Jenny and Eric conjoined at the hip? These characters existed without each other in previous seasons, why the sudden "Bobbsey Twins" treatment? Blair's zingers keep getting better. Referring to Bree as a "future NASCAR mother" was priceless. And are we really stuck with creepy Scott now that's he's officially a member of the tribe? Hopefully he stays in Boston and only ventures into the Big Apple once or twice a year.

What did you think? Was Lily's wedding a gown a vision or a fashion faux pas? How do you feel about the previews for next week? Who is Chuck going to be kissing?

If you really think about it, most of the storylines have been used before on the OC.

This ep was pretty fantastic. But I just remembered that the Brown storyline was already done on the O.C. Seth and Summer both wanted to go, but only one from their school could get in, and Seth blew the interview and deferred for a year, eventually getting into RISD. Must be a Josh Schwartz thing.

I absolutely love Serena's black dress in this episode! Does anyone know who it is by? Thanks!

podcast soon plz!
