Here are a few Washington events of note for Wednesday, September 17.
President Bush is meeting with Panamanian President Martin Torrijos.
The Business Roundtable is speaking on American competitiveness, led by Chairman Harold McGraw III of McGraw-Hill Companies, Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg, Xerox CEO Anne Mulcahy, Accenture CEO William Green and others.
Housing Secretary Steve Preston is speaking on the housing market.
Former First Lady Nancy Reagan is presenting former Soviet dissident Natan Sharansky with the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award.
