Here are a few Washington events of note for Friday, September 26.
The first presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain is scheduled tonight at the University of Mississippi.
Congressional leaders and Bush administration officials are continuing to work out details of the proposed $700 billion bailout of giant Wall Street financial institutions.
President Bush is meeting with President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan.
The Commerce Department is releasing the 2nd quarter Gross Domestic Product report.
