Movie News: Pacino as Dr. Death, 'Navigator' gets compliance

pacino 2.jpgHe's a fan o' man! Now he'll be killing them softly. The Hollywood Reporter says Al Pacino has singed on to star as Dr. Jack Kevorkian in the HBO biopic "You Don't Know Jack." I do know "Jack" will chronicle the doctor's work in assisted suicide, and more than likely crescendo in a 10-minute monologue on how "I was just helping people live, damn it! Then you took a flame thrower to this place!"

In other (disappointing) movie news, we have a remake of one of those bad movies you used to think was a good movie.....

"Flight of the Navigator," the Disney cult-classic that cleaned up on video, is getting a reboot. The original sci-fi film follows a young boy who vanishes, only to reappear as his same-old-self 8 years later. In case you missed renting it 22 times like I did, here's a refresher:

No word if Paul Reubens will reprise his performance as the talking head thing Max, or if Joey Cramer will appear as an older David seeking to help the next navigator get through his journey (I don't think he's very busy). THR says Brad Copeland ("Wild Hogs") will write the script and the original EP John Hyde will return, but still no director.

How about adding a slightly older, sexier David? Have him discover a strange hatch/spaceship in his backyard that takes him through time resulting in weird nosebleeds. Add in an annoying love triangle and a vagabond con man - J.J. Abrams at your service!
