Great articles. Our son was home on leave for 15 days. We took him to O'Hare this morning 5 May for his return trip. He is with the Illinois National Guard also. Thanks for the coverage. The troops deserve to be noticed. Thank you from a soldier's mother, father, and entire family. Thanks also to the troops. We are very proud of all of them. Barbara
Our son is in Afganistan with the 333rd MP Co. out of Freeport IL. Two were injured in my sons unit. My nephew Jaimie is also in Afganistan close to Jalalabad, his unit is out of Woodstock, IL, they have lost 4 soldiers. With that said, I wanted to say THANKS for the coverage. My concern is that so many seem to forget that they are over there. And yes, some are bored - which a mom likes to hear but they get restless when they are not on a mission or helping in a more productive way as soldiers. My son will be heading to another FOB which we know those journeys can be very dangerous so we say our prayers daily and look forward to when the 333rd and the unit my nephew is with are back home.
