arabesque 2.jpgThe 3rd Annual Chicago Arabesque festival is back in Daley Plaza - celebrating the finest in Arabic music, cuisine, handicrafts, clothing and more! I'll be checking it out on tonight's WGN Evening news at 5:30. If you're wondering what kind of specific events you'll find at the festival, check out some of these highlights from the program guide....
THURSDAY: The Firket Al Azdeekah Dance Troupe will show off the national dance of the people of the Levant in Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Jordan, and some sections of Iraq.

FRIDAY: Hijazz will be in the plaza, playing a unique blend of jazz, Arabic, Brazilian, Lain and Indian music.

SATURDAY: Raj'een Debkeh Group will be performing some traditional Palestinian debkeh dances.

Also in conjunction with Arabesque, they'll be hosting the American East Pavilion Film Festival all four days of the event. Each day guests can get a chance to see "America East," produced by and starring Tony Shalhoub.

Chicago Arabesque runs Thursday (10-3), Friday (10-3), and Saturday (11-7)  in Daley Plaza. For more information on everything Chicago Arabesque, including the film festival, visit the official website here.
