Alive!

The Bulls made it a series with a stunning win at Detroit last night. After the game, Coach Scott Skiles and his players made it clear they aren't about to back down.

Luvin' It

With the Bulls in Detroit, the Luvabulls were free to pay a visit to the WGN newsroom on Tuesday morning.

Game Notes For Game 5 @ Detroit

* Over their last six games in Detroit (regular and postseason), the Bulls have only beaten the Pistons one time (April 4, 2007). * Detroit is 8-0 all-time when it is leading a seven-game series, 3-1. * The last time the Bulls were down 3-1 to the Pistons in a seven-game series (1987-88), they lost the series in Game 5. Chicago is 0-3 all-time in a seven-game series when it is down 3-1. * Richard Hamilton has scored at least 20 points in every playoff game he has played at home this season. In these four games he is averaging 22.0 points. * For the first time in his postseason career, Chris Webber scored zero points in back-to-back postseason games. In the two games Detroit played in Chicago, Webber was 0 for 8 from the field and had just four rebounds. * Luol Deng has scored at least 20 points in every game this postseason except for the two games the Bulls have played in Detroit. In these two games Deng is averaging 17.0 points and is shooting just 39.3% (11/28) from the field. * After scoring over 20 points in every game against the Heat this postseason, Ben Gordon has yet to score 20 points in any game against the Pistons in this series. Gordon is averaging 13.8 points and is shooting 30.2% (13/43) from the field in these four games.

Game Notes For Game 4 vs. Detroit

* The last time these two teams met in the postseason, the 1990-91 Eastern Conference Finals, the Bulls swept the Pistons in four games. * The Bulls pulled down 60 rebounds in Game 3, marking the first time since the 1992 playoffs that a team pulled down at least 60 rebounds but scored less than 80 points. * All five Pistons starters are averaging double-digits in scoring this postseason. * On three occasions in franchise history, the Pistons have led a best-of-7 series 3-0, and on all three occasions, the Pistons pulled off the sweep. * The Pistons are now 7-0 this postseason despite scoring the second fewest points in the paint per game (26.0). * The last time the Bulls were down 0-3 in a seven-game series was in the 1980-81 Eastern Conference Semifinals (lost series 4-0 to Boston). * Chicago is averaging just 80.5 points and shooting 34.9% from the field over its last four games. In their first three playoff games, the Bulls averaged 102.3 points and shot 48.9% from the field. * The Pistons have made two more free throws than their opponents have this postseason despite attempting 37 fewer free throws (183 to 220).

Game Notes For Game 2 @ Detroit

* The Bulls’ 69 points in Saturday’s 95-69 Game 1 loss were their fewest in a postseason game in franchise history (previously: 72 vs. Golden State - May 11, 1975). * Detroit has won 22 of 23 postseason series all-time after winning Game 1 at home. The lone such series loss came to the Celtics in the 2001-02 conference semifinals. * The Pistons are allowing just 84.2 points per game in the playoffs, best in the NBA. * The Bulls haven’t lost back-to-back road games this season since losing three straight in early February. * Detroit is 14-5 all-time in the playoffs when Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups both score at least 20 points, as they did in Game 1. * Antonio McDyess is averaging 9.4 rebounds per game this postseason (47/5), easily the highest among players coming off the bench. * After scoring at least 24 points in all four games against Miami, Ben Gordon had just seven points on 2-of-9 shooting Saturday.
