Blackhawks Game Notes For Wednesday vs. Panthers

* The Panthers dropped a 1-0 decision at Madison Square Garden last night and have now lost three of four games overall (1-2-1 record). Florida is just 4-8-1 in the second of back-to-back contests this season.

* Chicago beat the Coyotes, 2-1, in Phoenix on Sunday and is now 2-1-2 in its last five games overall. The Blackhawks have won five straight games at United Center by a combined score of 22-14.
* Including a 3-2 victory on March 8, Florida is 4-2-0 vs. Chicago since the beginning of the 2005-06 campaign. These two clubs have played 12 games in Chicago all-time with each team winning five of those tilts (two ties).
* Stephen Weiss missed his second game of the season last night and including a 1-1-0 record in 2010-11, the Panthers are just 3-9-4 without their scoring leader in the lineup since the beginning of 2007-08. Weiss is questionable for tonight's contest (leg injury).
* Marian Hossa had a helper Sunday, giving him 16 points (9g, 7a) in his last 13 games overall. The Blackhawks are 31-18-6 with Hossa in the lineup this season and just 8-7-2 without.
* Florida's blueliners have lit the lamp 34 times in 2010-11 - the third-highest total in the East and tied for sixth highest in the league.

* Phoenix is 5-1-1 in its last seven games against the Blackhawks, with three of the wins coming via shootout.

* Chicago's 5-0 loss in Dallas Thursday was just its second shutout loss of the season. Only the Thrashers have been shut out fewer times (once, entering Saturday).

* Marian Hossa has nine goals and six assists in his last 12 games. Chicago is 15-2-1 this season when Hossa scores a goal.

* Duncan Keith has a goal and nine assists in his last 11 games against Phoenix.

* The last time these two teams faced off against each other, the Stars trailed 3-0 after one period, but picked up a 4-3 victory in a shootout.

* The Blackhawks have earned at least one standings point in 11 of their last 12 games (9-1-2).

* Over their last six games, the Stars have scored more shorthanded goals (three) than power-play goals (two).

* The Blackhawks have outscored their opponents by a Western Conference-high 28 goals (82/54) during the second period of games this season.

* Patrick Kane capped the scoring in Monday's tilt against San Jose with his 24th goal of the season and the 100th of his NHL career. Kane is the third-youngest player (22 years, 115 days) in Blackhawks franchise history to reach the 100-goal plateau, after Jeremy Roenick (21, 325) and Bobby Hull (22, 68).

* Jamie Benn's 8-game point streak (7 goals, 4 assists) is the longest active point streak in the NHL and is one of four Dallas Stars this season who have recorded a point in at least seven consecutive games (others are Ribeiro, Eriksson and Neal).

* The Sharks lost, 3-2, in a shootout with the Rangers on Saturday and have now taken at least one point from 11 of their last 12 games overall (9-1-2 record).

* Chicago dropped a 4-3 overtime decision in Washington D.C. yesterday and has now taken at least one point from 10 of its last 11 games overall (8-1-2 record). The Blackhawks are 10-3-2 in the second of back-to-back games this season - second best in hockey.
* The Sharks have won all three meetings with the Blackhawks in 2010-11 and are looking to complete a 4-game sweep of Chicago for the third time in the last five seasons (also 2006-07, 2007-08).
* Ryan Clowe lit the lamp on Saturday for the third straight contest and now has five points during his 3-game scoring streak (4g, 1a). Clowe has eight goals in his last 11 skates - tied for third most of any player in the league since February 17.
* With his goal vs. the Caps yesterday, Jonathan Toews has a career-high tying 69 points overall in 2010-11 (also 2008-09). Toews has 19 points (10g, 9a) in his last 12 games - most of any player in the league since February 18.
* San Jose has won four straight road games, all by a single goal. The Sharks have won 20 one-goal games in 2010-11 - fifth most in the league.

* The Blackhawks have held the Capitals without a single power-play goal in 14 of their last 18 meetings.

* The Blackhawks have not scored or allowed a single power-play goal over their last four games.

* Jonathan Toews has scored eight goals (while dishing out four assists) over his last seven games. Toews also scored two goals the last time he faced the Capitals (March 14, 2010).

* Patrick Kane is currently working on a 7-game point streak - his longest since a 9-game point streak from February 6 to March 10, 2010

Blackhawks Game Notes For Friday vs. Hurricanes

* The Hurricanes are 8-0-1-1 against the Blackhawks over their last 10 meetings. The Blackhawks have not won in regulation against the Hurricanes since April 3, 1999.

* The Blackhawks are riding a six-game winning streak, their longest of the season, and have outshot their last three opponents by an average of 8.3 shots per game.

* Carolina has started off March with back-to-back wins. Since the 2004-05 lockout, the Hurricanes are 45-18-8 in March, third-best among NHL teams in that span.

* The Blackhawks are one of just six teams with three or more players with at least 50 points this season, and one of just two teams with three players with at least 55 points.

* Jonathan Toews has five goals in his last three games and 13 points over his last seven games. Toews' +21 rating is tied for fifth among NHL forwards this season.

* Calgary beat the Blues, 6-0, in St. Louis last night - its second straight and fifth win in the last seven games overall. The Flames are 19-5-6 (.733) in their last 30 games - best of any team in the league since December 23.

* The Blackhawks beat the Wild, 4-2, on Monday and have now won a season-high five straight games overall. Marian Hossa potted a shorthanded goal vs. the Wild, giving the 'Hawks six shorties this season and a league-high 19 since the beginning of 2009-10.

* Including a 4-2 victory earlier this season, the Blackhawks have defeated the Flames five straight times at United Center by a combined score of 25-11.

* Jarome Iginla recorded his fourth 3-point game of the season last night (2g, 1a), giving him 61 points overall in 2010-11. Iginla has now eclipsed the 60-point plateau in 11 consecutive seasons - the longest active streak in the NHL.

* Jonathan Toews also had a 3-point game in his last skate (1g, 2a) and now has 11 points (4g, 7a) during his current 6-game scoring streak. Toews has 23 points (6g, 17a) in his last 14 games overall - most of any player in the league since January 25.

* Calgary has scored 71 third-period goals in 2010-11 - tied for third-most in the league. Chicago has allowed 70 goals in the third period this season - fifth-most in the NHL.
