Blackhawks Game Notes For Wednesday vs. Toronto

* The Leafs dropped a 5-3 decision to the Panthers last night and have now lost five straight (0-4-1 record) and nine of their last 10 games overall (1-8-1 record). Toronto's opponents have clicked on 27.8 percent (5-for-18) of their power-play opportunities in the last eight tilts.

* Chicago lost, 3-1, in Anaheim on Sunday - its third straight setback by a combined score of 10-2. The Blackhawks are just 4-11-1 (.281) in their last 16 games - worst in the NHL since January 21.
* The Blackhawks defeated the Maple Leafs, 5-3, in the two clubs' last meeting (3/5/11) - their sixth straight win over Toronto overall. Chicago has never beaten Toronto seven times in a row (all-time).
* Phil Kessel had a goal and a helper last night, giving him 16 points (6g, 10a) in his last 12 games overall. Kessel has matched his goal-output from last season already and his 64 markers since the beginning of 2010-11 are second most in the Eastern Conference (Stamkos - 89).
* Marian Hossa had an assist Sunday and now has seven points (4g, 3a) in his last eight games since going without a single point in six contests from January 31-February 11. Including a hat trick on November 30, 2006, Hossa has 13 points (6g, 7a) in his last nine skates against the Leafs.
* The Maple Leafs are 5-6-1 in the second of back-to-back games this season. Chicago is 11-10-1 when getting 2+ days off between games in 2011-12.

* The Kings shut out the Blackhawks, 2-0, when they met in Chicago on December 28; that broke a seven-game series win streak for Chicago.

* The Blackhawks have now gone 12 consecutive games without scoring a single power-play goal.

* Over the last two months (since December 23), the Kings have scored less than two goals in 14 of their 16 losses (while being shut out five times).

* The Kings have scored an NHL-high 45.6 percent (57/125) of their goals during the second period this season.

* The Blackhawks have won four consecutive games in regulation for the second time this season (also November 10-16), and have allowed exactly one goal in each of their last three games.

* The Stars have had exactly one power-play opportunity in three of their last four games.

* The Blackhawks are the only team in the NHL that has not scored a single power-play goal this month.

* Chicago has won five consecutive games against Columbus, with each of the last four games decided by exactly three goals.

* The Blackhawks scored four goals in the first 10 minutes of their game against the Rangers Thursday night to break their 9-game losing streak.

* The Blue Jackets (11-9-4) are one of just two NHL teams (Minnesota 10-9-5) who have not won at least half of their games this season when scoring the first goal of the game.

* Blue Jackets defensemen have provided their team with an NHL-high 31.8 percent (114/359) of their points this season.

* Blue Jackets defenseman Aaron Johnson had a pair of assists the last time he faced the Blackhawks (January 10) had just two assists over his first 15 career games against Chicago.

* The Blackhawks dropped a 3-2 decision in Nashville on Tuesday and have now lost nine straight games overall (0-8-1 record). Chicago is 0-for-19 on the power-play since the All-Star break (last seven games).

* New York beat Boston, 3-0, on Tuesday and has now won four straight contests by a combined score of 15-7. The Rangers are 5-for-13 (38.5 percent) on the power-play during their current winning streak.
* These two clubs last met on November 1, 2010 - a 3-2 victory by the Rangers. The Blueshirts are 4-0-1-2 in their last seven games vs. the Blackhawks, last losing in regulation nearly 10 years ago (4-3 on December 11, 2002).
* Marian Hossa ended his 6-game point drought with a goal Tuesday and leads the Blackhawks with 54 points on the season. Hossa has 17 points (8g, 9a) in his last 13 games vs. the Rangers.
* Including allowing two or fewer goals in eight straight outings, Henrik Lundqvist is 13-4-0 with a 1.39 GAA and .952 save percentage in his last 17 starts. Lundqvist is 3-0-0 with a 1.67 GAA in three career home games vs. Chicago.
